From 4.26.18
We have a curricular update to share with you regarding some changes to our anatomy curriculum. You may remember from your interview day that we discussed potential changes regarding how anatomy will be delivered to the entering class of 2018. As you know, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine is at the cutting edge in the development of Hololens technology for anatomy instruction. The outcomes of the smaller scale Hololens pilots that we have been conducting with our classes of 2020 and 2021 have been going well and the WR2 Curriculum Committee (and the students in the pilots!) are very pleased with the results. Recently though, the WR2 Curriculum Committee decided that it would be wise to continue the expansion of these pilots rather than to implement a full launch for your entering class. Attached is a short video message from our Associate Dean for Curriculum, Dr. Amy Wilson-Delfosse, further explaining what the anatomy curriculum will look like for you.

CWRU Medical Pathway Programs - “Pathways"—or concentrations— have been created to better develop well-rounded medical professionals who will graduate equipped to treat patients more effectively.
The WR2 Curriculum
In 2006, the School of Medicine launched the Western Reserve2 Curriculum (WR2) to develop a learner-centered and self-directed curriculum framework and implement dynamic small group learning teams. Students learn in an environment that fosters scientific inquiry and excitement. Since it's implementation, it has become the model for other medical schools who have undergone their own reform and/or redesign.
