Campus Resources

We looked through the undergraduate orientation sites and found some resources that we thought you would find useful as you become a part of our community.

CAMPUS POLICE SERVICES

CWRU RAVE Alerts:

In the event of an emergency, university leadership must be able to contact you immediately. Case Western Reserve University uses Rave Mobile Safety to provide updates to members of the campus community via:

  • email
  • text
  • voice (to campus and/or mobile phones)
  • social media
  • website banners.

The university will use Rave alerts only when an emergency affects a large portion of campus. This includes weather closings and delays. (SNOW DAY!!! - quite rare but it has happened!)

CWRU Shield App:

CWRU Shield is a free smartphone application helping the CWRU Police respond to emergency situations quickly and with more accuracy than ever before. The CWRU Shield goes beyond GPS using cutting-edge technology called Indoor Positioning System (IPS). This enables emergency personnel to locate the caller’s approximate internal building location (building, floor and room) using Wi-Fi.

CWRU SAFE RIDE:

In addition to the University's Shuttle Bus Service, Safe Ride carries students, faculty and staff around campus and part of University Circle. The service is an after-hours addition to public transportation. It runs 7 days a week, between 7 p.m. and 3 a.m. Security officers drive all Safe Ride vehicles.

CWRU SAFETY ESCORT:

CWRU Police & Security Service staff, as well as students working for the department, provide walking campus safety escorts to students, faculty and staff within the campus and University Circle area. You can request a walking escort for any reason 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

CWRU FREE ACCESS PROGRAM

As a Case Western Reserve student, you can enjoy many of the cultural, scientific and educational attractions that are located near campus for free. The Office of Student Affairs provides students with free access to many of the area's most interesting museums and cultural institutions.

Cleveland Orchestra Student Advantage Card

Severance Hall, the newly renovated and expanded home of the world-renowned Cleveland Orchestra, is located on the CWRU campus. Free tickets to regular Thursday evening performances and selected special concerts are available to students through a weekly drawing sponsored by the Office of Student Affairs. On Mondays and Tuesdays, students may enter the drawing by completing the drawing entry form online.
