Objective: Create Crazy Animals by combining multiple animals images using PhotoShop CS5 CS6
Requirements
Create 5 Crazy Animal images using PhotoShop
Add 3 or more animal parts to the original image.

Magic Eraser Tool
STEP 1
· Find a picture of an animal on the Internet try to find one that is at least 800 pixels wide. Right click and copy the image you find.
STEP 2
Open Photoshop
Click File New
Make sure you select clipboard for Preset, this will make the canvas the same size of the image you just copied
STEP 3
Select Painting for your Workspace
STEP 4
Zoom
If your picture is too large to fit on the screen then zoom out
Zoom in Canvas
Hold down Ctrl and Alt then Roll mouse roller to zoom in/out
STEP 5
Find Animal Head
Find another animal that is a similar color to the black horse
Notice that I found a panther pic that is facing the side just like the horse
Copy the image and paste it into Photoshop
STEP 6
Rename Layers
Look at the bottom right corner of your workspace you will see the layers menu
Name each of the layers by right clicking on the layer and selecting layer properties this will allow you to name the layer
Delete the blank background layer by right clicking on it from layers menu
STEP 7
Resize and Move Panther Head
Make sure the Panther layer is selected blue
Click Ctrl + T to Transform the head
Resize, move and rotate the panther head so that it is covering most of the horse head
Once in position click on any tool and apply the transformation
STEP 8
Make Panther Head Transparent
Use the Magnetic Lasso Tool
Zoom in on the head
Trace around the head and neck of the panther
Take your time and if it is not snapping correctly on the edge of the panther left click to manually set a point
Continue to trace around the panther head once you reach the first point of your trace click to complete the selection
STEP 9
Copy Selection
Press Ctrl + C to Copy then Ctrl + V to Paste this will make a new layer with only the panther head
Delete the old panther layer by right clicking and selecting Delete Layer from the Layers Panel
Rename the new layer head
STEP 10
Move head if needed
Click Ctrl + T to Transform the head
Resize, move and rotate the panther head so that it is covering most of the horse head
Once in position click on the selection tool and apply the transformation
Try to make the necks match up
It is OK if the entire horse head is not covered
STEP 11
Clone Stamp the Sky over the horse head
Select Horse Layer
Use Clone Stamp Tool
Select Soft Round Brush
Change Brush Size to about half the size of the horse head
Hold down Alt while clicking on the sky to the right of the horse head, make sure none of the horse head is selected when you do this
Now click on the horse layer it will clone the sky on top of the head of the horse making it look like sky
STEP 12
Blend Panther Head and Horse Neck
Select panther head layer
Use Eraser Tool
Change the properties of the Eraser Tool found above the canvas in the properties area
Change Opacity to 50%
Select Soft-round Brush and change size of eraser to be about half the size of the panther head you can change to smaller for detailed areas
Click on areas that need blended each time you click you erase 50% of the panther head thus blending the two layers together
STEP 13
Add Horn to Panther Head
Go to Google Image search then click on Search tools and select color then transparent this will allow you to find pictures with a transparent background. So you don't have to erase around the image
Find another animal picture to add I will add a horn to the panther head
Copy the image and paste it into Photoshop
Name this layer horn
STEP 14
Erase Background of Horn
Select Horn Layer
Use the Magic Eraser Tool
Change Tolerance of Magic Eraser to 0 this will erase the black background.
If you keep 30 for tolerance it will erase 30 shades from the color you click on which might erase part of the image instead of just the background
STEP 15
Transform the Horn
Select the Horn Layer
Click Ctrl + T to Transform the horn
Resize, Move and Rotate the horn into position (If you hold down Shift as you resize the horn will keep its aspect ratio)
STEP 16
Add Wings to Horse
In Google click on Search tools and select color then transparent this will allow you to find pictures with a transparent background. So you don't have to erase around the image
Find another animal picture to add I will add wings to the horse
Since the Wings I found are black erasing the background with the magic eraser will not work instead we will save the picture to preserve the transparency
Open the wings image in Photoshop
Select All the Wings Image by clicking Ctrl + A
Copy the image and paste it into the horse panther pic
Name this layer wings
STEP 17
Transform the Wings
Select the Wings Layer
Click Ctrl + T to Transform the Wings
Resize, Move and Rotate the Wings into position (If you hold down Shift as you resize the horn will keep its aspect ratio)
STEP 18
Mask Wings under the Horse Mane
We want the wings to be under the horse mane to do this we use a technique called masking
Right Click on the horse layer and duplicate it name the new layer mane
Now move the wings layer between the two layers with the mane layer on top of the wings
STEP 19
Erase Mask
Select the mane layer
Use Eraser Tool
Change Opacity to 100% Change the eraser size as needed
Erase out the area where the wings are located in the mane area you can erase around the wings without having to be exact
Be sure not to erase any of the places where the mane and the wings intersect
You will need to Zoom in to erase all the areas hold Ctrl + Alt while rolling your mouse roller to Zoom
You can also use the Magic Eraser Tool to erase a bit quicker
You are now finished with your creation and can begin on your next "Crazy Animal"
