Objective: Create a flow chart using google draw to demonstrate a process visually.
Requirements: Create 3 flow charts using Google Draw and using the five symbols listed
Flow Chart symbols
The terminator is used to show where your flow begins or ends. Ideally, you would use words like 'Start', 'Begin', 'End' inside the terminator object to make things more obvious.
Flowchart Process object is used to illustrate a process, action or an operation. These are represented by rectangles; and the text in the rectangle mostly includes a verb. Examples include 'Edit video', 'Try Again',
Decision object is represented as a Diamond. This object is always used as a question. And, the answer to the question determines the arrows coming out of the Diamond. This shape is quite unique with two arrows coming out of it. One from the bottom point corresponding to Yes or True and one from either the right/left point corresponding to No or False. The arrows should be always labelled to avoid confusion in the process flow.
The Data object, often referred to as the I/O Shape shows the Inputs to and Outputs from a process. This takes the shape of a parallelogram.
Flow line connectors show the direction that the process flows.

Directions
Log in to your Google account Click Apps then Drive
Click New button
Picture
then more google drawings
Name the document feed the dog
Insert Start Shape
Click Insert > Shape > Shapes and select the Flowchart Terminator
Draw this shape on the left side of your workspace
Add Text label
Right click inside the shape and select edit text
Type Start re-size the text and center it
Add Process Shape
Click Insert > Shape > Shapes and select the Flowchart Process
Right click inside the shape and select edit text
Type Check Dog's Bowl re-size the text and center it
Add Decision Shape
Click Insert > Shape > Shapes and select the Flowchart Decision
Right click inside the shape and select edit text
Type Is Bowl Empty? re-size the text and center it
Make all the font sizes the same for all shapes
Yes or No Process
If the bowl is empty you fill it.
If the bowl is not empty do nothing
So we will add two shapes one terminator the other a process
Re-Arrange Shapes to fit in page
Flow charts need to fit on one page and the typically go from right to left or top to bottom
Arrange then in one of these two ways whatever fits the best
You can also re-size the shape make sure you leave room for arrows
Pay attention the the red snap lines which will help you align all the objects
Draw arrows to connect the flowchart
Think about the process use arrows to make it flow the correct direction
Click Insert > Line > Arrow
Draw the arrows connecting all the shapes
If you right click on an arrow you can change its type to either a:
Curved
Elbow connector
Label arrows if needed
The decision shape needs to be labeled Yes and No
Ideas
That is the process to create a simple flowchart now you need to make two new ones using these skills you have learned.
Here are some ideas:
Getting ready for school
What should you eat
How do you clean your room
How do you make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich
How do you get straight A's
What sport should I play?
How to clean your pet
How can you find Bigfoot
What Star Wars character are you
What outfit should you wear?
You can choose just about anything that needs a decision
Examples
Remember decision trees can have more than one outcome and they might look like this
You can also use more shapes than we used in the example one would be input/output
Examples of input are receiving a report, getting an e-mail, getting an order, receiving data in some format, etc. Examples of output are generating a report, sending an e-mail, faxing a message, etc.
Make it Better
You can also add pictures to your flowcharts to make them even easier to understand
