OBJECTIVE: Create a ten slide animal presentation using Google Slides and then Present it to the class. The subject will be an animal of your choice.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Each slide must contain a picture, information, theme, transition and animation.

Log into your Google account and click on the Apps button then open Slides then a new blank presentation
Rename the presentation "Animal Presentation"
Press the New Slide button until you have a total of 10 slides
Create Slides
Click Slide 1 Type Animal Name
Click Slide 2 Type Scientific Name
Click Slide 3 Type Conservation Status
Click Slide 4 Type Habitat
Click Slide 5 Type Physical characteristics
Click Slide 6 Type Diet
Click Slide 7 Type Reproduction
Click Slide 8 Type Legends
Click Slide 9 Type Amazing Facts
Click Slide 10 Type Conclusion
Note: You have now created 10 slides. You can click on any slide to go to that slide.
Choose Theme
Click theme and pick the theme you like for your slides
Slide 1 Animal Name
Click on the Text Box
Type in the name of the animal that you are doing your presentation on.
Change the Color, Font and Size of your animals name.
Drag the Text Box up to the top of the slide.
Click on the second Text Box
Type your name in this box.
Drag the Text Box down to the bottom of the slide.

Now you need to find a picture of your animal
Click Insert Image
Select Search type in the name of your animal
Resize the Picture
Resize the picture using the handles and drag it to the middle of your slide.
Slide 2 Scientific Name
Click on Slide 2 "Scientific Name."
Use an Internet search engine to find the following information for this slide:
Scientific name
Male name
Female name
Baby name
Group name
Other names and/or name meaning
Picture for Slide 2
Find a picture for slide two.
A good picture would show a male, female and baby of your animal
Slide 3 Conservation Status
You need to find the following information for this slide:
Find the conservation status
Total population
Now find picture for this slide
Hint: Try to find pictures that relate to the information
Slide 4 Habitat
You need to find the following information for this slide:
Geographic area your animal lives
Habitat type
Nest or shelter
Preferred climate conditions
Hint: You can crop your images if you only need part of the image
Slide 5 Physical characteristics
You need to find the following information for this slide:
Maximum size of animal.
Maximum age.
What your animal looks like.
Hint: You can resize your text box to fit around the picture by resizing the white handles that are around the picture.
Slide 6 Diet
You need to find the following information for this slide:
What your animal eats.
How it obtains it's food (hunt, scavenge, graze etc.)
How much food it eats.
Hint: Try to find a picture of a polar bear hunting or eating
Slide 7 Reproduction
You need to find the following information for this slide:
Number of babies
Type of birth
Nest
Training of young
Gestation period
Finding a mate
Slide 8 Legends
In this slide try to find a story or legend about your animal.
Examples:

Why the polar bear got its name?
The most famous polar bear ever.
Mascots that use my animal (Coke Cola)
Slide 9 Amazing Facts
Find 3 or more amazing facts about your animal.
Slide 10 Conclusion
This slide should contain a picture.
The slide should also contain one of the following:
The End
A brief concluding statement like: "Thank you for watching my presentation about the Polar Bear."
This slide needs to have a picture as well
Transitions
You now need to add Slide Transitions to all of your slides.
A Slide Transition is: An effect that controls how the next slide comes into view.
Insert Animation and the animation pane will appear
Click on Slide Transition
Select the Transition you want for your slide.
Add a transition to all your slides.
Animations
You now need to add Animations to all your Text boxes.
Insert Animation and the animation pane will appear
Click on the Title Text Box
Select the animation type make sure it is an "In" type not an "Out" type otherwise the animation will disappear when you click on it
Click the animation you want
Animate all objects in presentation
Animate in the following order:
Title
Picture
Information
Repeat for all your slides.
Videos
To Insert a Video
Click Insert Video search for the video you want
Re-size the Movie and drag it to the middle of your slide.
You can add videos to your presentation if you would like.
Don't use too many videos in your slide show usually one is enough
