Chamber Competition
Recently, Carmel College had entered 3 Chamber Groups: The Three Lees, Claude Horde, and The Dopper Trio in the NZCT Chamber Music Contest 2025.
There are 3 rounds in the competition: District, Regional and lastly, the National Final. Being a part of the Auckland region, the district round was held on the 6th of June. The 3 Chamber Groups went to the Raye Freedman Arts Centre in Epsom Girls Grammar School to perform their pieces.
The Three Lee’s played an intricate complexion of Darius Milhaud’s works: Suite Op157 (movement I, II and IV), Claude Horde performed the well-known Claude Debussy’s Cortege, Minuet and Ballet from the Petite Suite. Finally, The Doppler Trio played Andante and Rondo arranged for two flutes and a piano.
All three groups delivered an exceptional piece of remarkable artistry and are extremely ecstatic with the experience at the Chamber competition.
Despite all the nervousness the performers felt, we are glad that our passion and hardwork was honoured by us getting this opportunity to play together at such a memorable occasion.
