Starlight is an annual talent showcase for the Youth in the North Shore Catholic Community. This year, it was held on the 27th of July.
Showcasing talent from all across the North Shore, participants tried their best to win the hearts of the judges and the audience. From singing ‘Greatest Love of All’, to dancing ballet, to playing Pirates of the Caribbean on the piano, the night was filled with smiles and applause!
One of the guest acts of the show was the St Mary’s Primary choir (pictured above). They beautifully sang ‘A Million Dreams’ from The Greatest Showman. Well done to the children who were involved in the choir!
Congratulations to the winners:
Finlay just 14, showcased his exceptional ballet skills with a graceful and technically impressive performance. Dancing to a classical piece by Tchaikovsky, Finlay’s interpretation was both elegant and captivating. His precise footwork and expressive movements highlighted his dedication to the art of ballet, making him a standout performer of the evening; worthy of First Place.
Herbie delivered a memorable performance with her cover of Whitney Houston’s ‘Greatest Love of All’. Her strong passionate singing was widely regarded as one of the most standout performances of the night. During her outstanding performance, she engaged both audience and judges earning her 2nd place.
One of the pianists of the night, 16-year-old Jairus thoroughly impressed the audience with his performance of Pirates of the Caribbean, a piece which incorporated powerful beats and unique dynamics. His ability to exemplify the adventurous essence of the composition made him one of the highlights of the show. He gained the 3rd place position.
