Using a breakdown of standard performance, such as identifying specific skills or concepts where students struggle, allows us to pinpoint learning gaps, inform instruction, and monitor student progress over time, ensuring targeted support and increased learning for all students, including those with reading deficiencies or dyslexia. By understanding where students are struggling, I can adjust my teaching strategies and provide targeted instruction to address those specific needs. By monitoring which students struggled with which standard, I was able to place students into small groups for centers based on the standards they struggled with. I was able to provide differentiated instruction to each of those groups.
For students with identified deficiencies or characteristics of dyslexia, a breakdown of standard performance helps to identify specific areas of difficulty, allowing for targeted interventions as well.
