The Student Oral Language Observation Matrix (SOLOM) is an assessment tool that helps teachers evaluate English learners' (ELs) oral language proficiency and make informed instructional decisions. The SOLOM matrix assesses five key areas of oral language proficiency: Comprehension, Fluency, Vocabulary, Pronunciation, and Grammar. After completing and analyzing the SOLOM, I was able to identify the students needs and create activities to help this particular student in areas that they struggled.
