One of the 5 terminal branches of the brachial plexus, the musculocutaneous n. is a branch of the lateral cord of the plexus, innervates the anterior (flexor) compartment of the arm (coracobrachialis, brachialis, and biceps brachii). The nerve continues into the forearm as the “cutaneous” part of the musculocutaneous, the lateral antebrachial cutaneous n., the brown region in the figure below.
