Occipitofrontalis m

The occipitofrontalis m. (= epicranius) is one of the muscles of facial expression, so is innervated by CN VII (the facial n.). It has two bellies (an occipital belly and a frontal belly), separated by an epicranial aponeurosis (the galea aponeurotica). The action of the muscle is to raise the eyebrows and wrinkle the forehead.
