Superior laryngeal n

A branch of the vagus n. (CN X), the superior laryngeal n. descends behind the internal carotid a. and divides into an external laryngeal n. and an internal laryngeal n. The external laryngeal n. is the motor n. to the cricothyroid m., and the internal laryngeal n. provides general sensory input from the mucous membranes of the larynx.
