Brown Annual Fund Young Alumni Class Committee volunteers deepen engagement between their classmates and Brown by encouraging their peers to stay connected and give back to the Brown Annual Fund each and every year. Volunteers serve as chief advocates of the Brown Annual Fund within the Brown community and help the University sustain this vital source of funding for student and faculty needs.
Participation Volunteer
Demonstrate personal commitment to the Brown Annual Fund by making your own giftor pledge of any size early in the fundraising year.
Use the Fundraising Volunteer Portal to personally solicit classmates to join you as Brown Annual Fund donors with gifts of any size.
Use the Portal to update Annual Giving staff on your progress, and thank classmates who support the Annual Fund
Dial in to calls with Annual Giving staff and fellow young alumni class volunteers.
If possible, attend Brown events in your area and promote classmate attendance including the annual Volunteer Summit and regional young alumni events.
Leadership Volunteer

Serve as a signer for communications to all Young Alumni
Serve as lead volunteer for the Annual Fund’s young alumni program, addressing strategic questions and identifying growth opportunities for the Annual Fund
Serve on the Brown Annual Fund Executive Committee and participate in quarterly strategic calls
Familiarize yourself with the Brown Annual Fund and your class goals. Discuss strategy with your staff liaison.
Review class lists and invite friends to join you on the Class Gift Committee.
Lead by example and make your annual gift to the Brown Annual Fund.
Log into your Brown account and make sure your account information is up to date. Or, create your Brown account and password if you don’t have one.
Notify your staff liaison(s) that you're interested in utilizing the Volunteer Portal this year and verify your preferred email address. In order to use the Portal, your liaisons must create an account for you. You will receive an error message if you attempt to login without an active account.
Upon first login, sign the Confidentiality Agreement. If you’ve chosen not to use the Volunteer Portal, request an emailed copy from your staff liaison.
Select and/or review people you will reach out to.
Log in frequently to check for updates and new templates.
Bookmark your class website or find your community on BrownConnect+.
Join your class and other alumni and affinity Facebook, Twitter or Instagram pages (also found here) and get classmates excited for Brown virtual or in person events happening in your area.
Review the Volunteer Timeline and mark your calendars for giving days and special events.
Join fellow volunteers for BAF volunteer calls on November 13, 2025, and April 16, 2026.
