Emeriti Committee

The Brown Annual Fund Emeriti Committee (BAF-EC) works in partnership with Annual Giving staff to increase both participation and contributions to the Brown Annual Fund from Emeriti Corporation members.

• Set an example by making your own commitment to the Brown Annual Fund upon joining the Committee.

• Personally solicit a group of 5 Emeriti Corporation members to join you as Brown Annual Fund donors.

• Participate in regular email exchanges and occasional conference calls.

• Use the Brown Annual Fund volunteer portal to retrieve information, record your solicitation activity, and update Annual Giving staff on your progress.

• Attend Brown events in your area and promote attendance and engagement with Brown.

• If possible, attend the annual Volunteer Summit in NYC and return to campus for Commencement and Reunion Weekend May 22-24, 2026.

1. Familiarize yourself with the Brown Annual Fund and the Emeriti Committee’s roles, responsibilities, and goals.

2. Make your own gift to The Brown Annual Fund.

3. Set up your myBrown Account and password, or if you already have an account, log in to make sure your account information is up to date.

4. Log in to the Volunteer Fundraising Portal

• Notify your staff liaison(s) that you're interested in utilizing the Volunteer Fundraising Portal this year and verify your preferred email address. In order to use the Portal, your liaisons must create an account for you. You will receive an error message if you attempt to login without an active account. 

• Upon first login, sign the Confidentiality Agreement. If you’ve chosen not to use the Volunteer Portal, request an emailed copy from your staff liaison.

• Review your assignments.

• Discuss assignment strategy with your staff liaison.

• Log in frequently to check for assignment updates and new templates.

5. Review the Volunteer Timeline and mark your calendar for upcoming calls, giving days, and special events.

• July 1: Start of the Fiscal Year 

• October 8: Bruno Gives Back Day

• November 13: All Volunteer Presentation

• November 18: I Heart Brown Day

• December 31: Calendar Year End

• March: Volunteer Appreciation Month

• April 16: All Volunteer Presentation

• April 28: Brunonians Pay It Forward Day 

• May 21: Emeriti Day of Giving 

• June 30: Last Day of Fiscal Year—hit goal and celebrate!
