This section contains all the important bulleted information throughout this manual with more detail. We ask that you please read and understand all the information below.
Direct any questions you have to your staff liaisons through the Message feature or via email. You can identify your staff liaison by visiting the Staff Liaisons page.
Refrain from using the give some feedback button located in the bottom right corner of every page. Any submissions here are not sent to the Brown Annual Fund but to GiveCampus. This will result in a delayed response.
In order to access the Fundraising Volunteer Portal, you must have a Brown Account and have up to date contact information listed inside your profile. Use the same username and password as your myBrown account to login to the Portal. See How to Login for more details.
To access the Portal, visit https://www.givecampus.com/schools/BrownUniversity/login, click login with shibboleth and enter your Brown Account information. Do not log in using Facebook or your email address. You can also find a link to the Portal inside the Alumni Tab in your myBrown account.
If you experience any login trouble after entering your Brown alumni account information, try troubleshooting using the instructions found on the troubleshooting page and then email your staff liaison using our recommendations.
There is no GiveCampus mobile app – you can access the Portal using the link above on any web browser. Learn how to create a Portal shortcut on your mobile device.
As listed above, it is important you have an active email address listed inside your Brown alumni account. Any emails you send from inside the Portal are addressed from that email and therefore any responses you receive are only sent to your inbox. Responses are not sent back into the Portal. You must enter any responses you receive as a note on that assignment’s record. See the Planning & Tracking Outreach page for more details.
You will receive email notifications from the Portal when you have a direct message and when your assignment(s) have made a gift.
Do not reply to any emails you receive from the Brown Fundraising Volunteer Portal (ambassadorportal@givecampus.com). They will not go directly to your staff liaison but to GiveCampus.
If you request to be paired with a constituent and their spouse has a Brown affiliation you will be automatically paired with the spouse as well. Do not request to be unpaired to the spouse due to the possibility of you being automatically unpaired from your initial assignment if another volunteer selects the spouse. Learn how to utilize the tags feature to help you organize spouses.
Keep in mind you have an assignment limit. Your current assignment count / limit will be displayed in the top left corner of the menu bar, adjacent to My Assignments. Once you hit this limit, including pending requests, all constituents will appear unselectable for you. Contact your staff liaison if you wish to increase your Portal assignment limit.
If you have multiple roles inside the Portal you will have a separate My Assignments page for each role allowing you to further organize your assignments. Use the Role Switcher at the bottom of the left-hand navigation window to toggle between the role you intend to do outreach for at the current moment. Depending on the role you have selected, the following pages may appear different: Search Constituents, Resource, Email.
All emails sent within the Portal will automatically become a note. In order to help accurately track your activities, check the Gift Conversation and Thank You checkboxes when sending applicable emails. Any phone calls, texts, in person conversations or email responses require you to create a note in order to update your staff liaison and track your outreach. Notes will continue to live on that constituent’s record and anybody assigned after you can see the history. For more information on notes see the Planning & Tracking Outreach page.
GiveCampus uses test data for email tokens inside any email previews and test emails. The email will not send with the previewed test data. The primary purpose of the preview emails is to review for spelling errors, broken email tokens and formatting issues. For more information on Email see the Conducting Outreach page.
If a constituent is an anonymous donor, their giving status will read, Donor has given anonymously. When you are assigned to a constituent who has made anonymous gifts, you will see a BAF Consecutive Giving History of $0.00 – this is to respect their anonymity, and is not indicative of their level of giving. You will also see the number of consecutive years of giving and the BAF Suggested Ask Amount, both of which are good indicators of donor loyalty and capacity. Your staff liaison will provide you with more information regarding outreach to these constituents as appropriate. See the Anonymous Giving on the Planning & Tracking Outreach page.
The Portal only contains giving information for all Brown Annual Fund designations. Other Brown giving is indicated but not included in detail.
