Building Baby Furniture
Directions are in Video
Find some materials around your home that you can build with ( legos, blocks, beautiful stuff, paper, cardboard, recycle materials)
Use these materials, or building toys, to build baby furniture like the furniture for Baby Susie in Peter’s Chair and for Baby Louise in Oonga Boonga.
Take a photo and put it on SeeSaw so we can all see your work!

You can make a musical shaker by putting small items from your Beautiful Stuff collection (beads, acorns, pebbles) into an empty plastic bottle or other empty container with a top (yogurt container, coffee tin).

Mindfulness: Fading Tone
Place your hand on your heart when you hear the tone, or the sound, fade away.
How does it feel to sit still and listen to the tone?
Do you feel more relaxed with your eyes open or closed?

Watch the video for directions for Lego Names and Name Puzzles!
Look in your family email for print outs!
Outside Time: Rainy Day Walk
Rainy Day Walk
This video is about a Rainy Day Walk that I took last year. Sometimes its fun to walk on a Rainy Day.
This is not an assignment. You don't have to go on a Rainy Day Walk unless you want to!
Thursday
Math
Finding Groups
We are going to practice finding groups of objects.
First, look for two of something, such as two doors or two windows. Then, begin to look for other numbers of objects, such as three envelopes, four crackers, five leaves outside.
1) Show with your fingers how many
2) Draw a picture of some groups
3) Take a photo of some groups and submit on SeeSaw
Drama & Storytelling
Peter's Chair & Oonga Boonga
You can act out scenes from Peter’s Chair or Oonga Boonga, for example:
when Peter hides behind the curtain
when Peter helps his Dad paint the chair
when everyone tries to get Baby Louise to stop crying
when Daniel says “Oonga Boonga!” and Baby Louise stops crying
or another part of the story that you like
If you want to remember parts of the story you can listen to them again at the top of this page!
Friday
Science and Sensory
Moving Water
In Oonga Boonga, Baby Louise cried so much that the author wrote “her tears ran like rivers to the sea.”
Get a tub or sinkful of water and experiment with making water move! Using different containers and spoons or other utensils, try moving water so it flows in different directions like a river.
Families: this is an open-ended activity. It is ok to set your child up with a dishpan or sink or tub full of water and let them experiment.
Outside Time
Outdoor Leaf Hunt 2
Friday is a great day to go outside! You can do a leaf hunt, play in the leaves, or just have fun outside in the fall.
