Home Support:
What is AASA?
The Arizona Academic Standards Assessment is the standardized test each student in the state is required to take in the spring. This test starts in the 3rd grade, which means your child will be taking it for the first time this year! This is a BIG test and very important, especially this year for the ELA portion of the test. While we don't want to stress the students out, it's important to emphasize how important this test is. We've been talking about it in class and will be doing prep, but support at home in reminding your child to do their best to prepare is also beneficial!
Virtue Focus: Love of Country
This week we'll be focusing on American symbols and what they mean! Talk with your child about the importance of the flag, the colors, the eagle, etc. and discuss with them why we honor these symbols! The Olympics also start this weekend, and it would be a great time to watch with your child and cheer for the USA!
