Announcements for this Week:

• Homework WILL be checked/counted this week! Your child will be doing math, spelling, and grammar homework nightly. Even if they finish it in class, they're still instructed to take it home for you to check. Please check your child's purple folder for these nightly! Please see the note from Mr. Abel with some helpful spelling homework tips!

• Each night, your child should be taking home their Spalding notebook and their math notebook. The Spalding notebook will contain the spelling words for the night. You'll see markings like the ones I've added on here. We discuss these in class, but the markings do not need to be learned or copied for homework. The words on the site are provided for you to have as an extra resource if you'd like to work on words ahead of time. The math notebook will show important vocabulary, concepts, and resources for the lesson. This is a great help for homework! 

• On the MATH tab you'll find all of the answers for math homework! Use this as a resource as you help your child with their work. You can also find videos that go with each module if you need a little help with understanding what we're doing! I really encourage you to have your child do the work just like we're doing in class and encourage them to have growth mindset this year in math even if it's different than you learned how to do things! 

• You will see that grades will go in from this past week on Wednesday. Some of those grades may be low but PLEASE do not panic! This was just the first week, and your child is going to GROW so much this quarter! Use this as a time to encourage your student to push themselves and have a growth mindset! 

• Please continue to check for dress code- no sleeveless, shorts/skirts above 2 inches from the knee, leggings/bike shorts. Thank you!
