What is Annotation?
In reading, we often mark up our passages. We've done this a little bit, but this semester we're really going to be diving more deeply into this skill. Being able to highlight correctly and identify certain details while reading aids in comprehension and higher thinking skills. You can have your child do this with books you don't mind them writing in or make copies of stories and have them practice marking interesting parts, underlining details that support the main idea, and starring figurative language.
Virtue Focus: Courage
This week we'll be discussing courage in our futures- knowing how we can choose what careers we may want and how to have courage in thinking ahead! This fits right in with what we're learning in social studies as well. This would be a great week to discuss some options for the future with your child- college, military, career, or trade school!
