Home Support:
Summer Ideas
If you're looking for ways to continue to support your child in their learning over the summer, there are quite a few free and easy things you can do! Think about getting a library card and spend a day each week at the library. Lots have special events as well that promote reading! Giving your child access to many books helps to keep their skills sharp! Continue to practice flashcards and facts during the summer as well! Even something like 5 minutes a day keeps those multiplication facts fresh in their minds. You can also consider having your child keep a journal or diary! This is a great way to work on penmanship, grammar, and writing skills! Have them practice writing various types of sentences in their entries as a challenge! Grocery shopping, chores, and sports or lessons can also be great places to work on problem solving skills.
Virtue Focus: Joy
This week we'll start discussing the virtue of joy! This is perfect as we finish up the school year! We'll learn that joy is a feeling of great happiness, but that it goes even deeper than happiness! Students will reflect on things that brought them joy this year for our last virtue bulletin board of 3rd grade!
