Greetings Creekside Middle School Community,

Welcome to the first Creekside Newsletter for the 2021-2022 school year. Our purpose is to communicate what's taking place at CMS and to ensure our community is getting necessary information about upcoming events. We will publish a newsletter every three or four weeks.

Summer 2021 Highlight

Twenty-two upcoming 6th graders dedicated two weeks of their summer to the University of Arkansas sponsored "Young Writers Camp," held at Creekside Middle School, where they studied authors, writing tips, and practiced writing five hours a day. They celebrated their writing every day and produced coloring books full of writing as their culminating service project which were donated to the N.W. Arkansas Children's Shelter. These students were led by Creekside teachers, Kim Kendrick, Christin Rupert, and Erin King.

Creekside Classroom Fun!

In 6th grade science, Mr. Thomas works with students to let them explore!

Students are making observations and writing wonder questions that they could test further. Be sure to ask your child about what they learned while exploring ice balloons!

Flight Time

Later this month, all students will have the opportunity to accelerate their math and literacy skills. They will work in small groups, one on one, and in peer led settings. This is a great time for students to hone their skills and access high levels of learning.
