What To Do When You're Bored
By Ella
What to do when you're bored?
You can fight with a sword
And see how your scored.
Or you can ride a skateboard,
But you might fly overboard.
You can talk to a landlord,
Though you might be ignored.
You can jump with a bungee cord
But you might have to be restored.
You can make a fort out of cardboard
And attach a telephone cord
If you do these things you should never getbored.
Planet Poem
By: Ellie Lowenberg
We came from the chimpanzee's that swing from the trees
From the bacteria we kill with hand sanitizers
It was them first
Now it's us
It took about 2 billion years
And now were here.
Killing the earth we call our home.
Plastic
Oil
Coal
All things we "can't" live without
Everyone wants to "Change The World"
But we need to save it first.
Braces
by Ella Wolverton
Braces hurt
Which makes me want to skirt
They make me very alert
And I can't eat most desserts
But they’re okay because they make your teeth straight
So I guess they’re okay
Frosty's
by Elliot Lowenberg
Wendy's is my most favorite place. Whenever I get an A on a test, my dad takes me to get those juicy burgers, cold soda, and tasty chicken nuggets. He says every time, "Don't tell mom" and I never will, because then, no more Wendy's. My favorite part of Wendy's is those frosty's. The frosty's are cold creamy ice cream cups that I cannot live without. The best time is when they are 50 cents each. I'll walk to Wendy's (which takes 30 minutes) with two dollars. Then I'll order two chocolate frosty's and two vanilla ones, then I sit at the same corner booth every time and devour them in 5 minutes flat. Man, I love myself some frosty's.
All Summer In A Day
By: Ella Wolverton
The kids froze and remembered poor Margot left in the dark corners of the closet.
Margot wondered if the sun ever did come.
The kids trembled down the stairs and embraced her, you could see the regret in their eyes,
the hurt in their hearts,
And the specks of sun still in there souls.
A cookie
By: Angelina Olson
Cookies are delicious, and there are so many kinds of cookies. Chocolate chip, M&M, and peanut butter. But there is one cookie, this one little cookie, that has caused distrust in children many times. The oatmeal raisin cookie, the one that looks like chocolate chip. You grab and take a bit of it, you chew thinking you bit into the most chocolatey part of the cookie. But when you bite down fully, it is not a chocolate chip, you freeze, you start to panic. What have you taken a bite of?
You ask your grandma what type of cookie it is. Your grandma answers,
“Oatmeal Raisin.” You drop the cookie. You start to tremble, tears fall down your cheeks. You feel betrayed, you look at your grandma and she is asking what is wrong but you can’t put what you feel into words, you’ve lost trust in all cookies and it’s your grandma’s fault.
Subway, Eat Fresh
By: Angelina Olson
As the sun sets over the horizon, my tears start to fall. Not tears of sadness, but of joy. I’ve come all this way, and my work has been rewarded. Leaving me full of bliss and accomplishment. I take a deep breath, in through the nose out through the mouth. The lovely aromas around me fill my nostrils. I start to unwrap my present, excitement starts to flow threw me, I can’t wait anymore, the slow unwrapping starts to become frantic tearing as I can wait no longer. At last my reward is here, ready for me to eat. My eyes start watering up again it’s too beautiful to eat and yet my hunger is overwhelming, I don’t want to but I must, the cashiers hard work cannot go to waste. I finally take a bite, and the flavor explodes in my mouth. This, in my opinion, is the best sandwich I’ve ever had, the spiciness of the salami, the crunchiness and sourness of the pickles fill me with bliss. Oh Spicy Italian Subway sandwich, I love you.
Doggo
By: Angelina Olson
Oh, boy, I love going outside! Wait-is that a bird? I’m gonna go get it. Oh, it’s gone. It’s really nice out here and my fren is here too. They make me sooooo happy. They always call me a good boi. I know I am, but it’s nice to hear it from them, too. I always snuggle with them at night, and in the morning we eat food! I just love food! But my fren never lets me have any of their food- they say it’s bad for me. We are going back inside now, I miss the outside, but now I get to hang out with fren! I pick up my other fren and give to them. But they then throw them! I go run to get them, a lot more careful this time, but I give it back to fren. They throw them again! I can’t find fren now. After searching for a while, I find fren but now I’m tired. I’m going to sleep.

A Poem By: Ellie Lowenberg
My mom and dad are crazy about Basketball
And when March comes, I have to hide my piggy Bank.
When The games start they´re is a lot of cheering
Sometimes there's even yelling.
My Mom wanted to make a deal.
So if my dad wins,
Mom has to clean His Car
And If Mom wins
Dad has to bring her Breakfast In Bed
They Shook on it and everything.
When It was Finally April and the MADNESS was over
Dad had to bring Mom Breakfast in Bed.
My dad said,
¨Julia, maybe next year
You can fill out
A Bracket¨
He said Flipping a pancake and turning a piece of bacon.
No way,
I thought,
¨No Daddy, because
I don't Know How
To make Pancakes¨
Tryouts
A Short Story By: Ellie Lowenberg
James was so nervous for the tryout. He'd only ever played baseball with Beaverton for one year. There was usually 14 people cut from either team each year. James had no back up plan if he didn't make it, no alternate sport. ¨James Bank, up to the plate please.¨ Coach Anthony called, and James walked up, ball in hand, glove on the other. ¨Pitch it!¨ Other kids shouted. James hurled the ball to the catcher, in a near perfect throw. James started to get ready for his second throw, when Coach Anthony stopped him, ¨Thanks James, that's all I needed to see.¨ James slumped over to the dugout bench and sulked, while all the other kids took their turn.
¨Ok, we saw a lot of talent here today, but there are only 3 varsity spots and only 5 JV spots, so not everyone will be on a team¨ James looked at the floor. ¨So if I call your name you are on JV,¨ Coach said. ¨Hunter, Micah, Riley, Owen, and Liam¨ everyone clapped, and cheered. James started to sweat. ¨And now the people on Varsity, Kaden, Dane, and………………..¨

¨James!! Congratulations to all, and……………..¨ James was tuned out, in a trance, he was totally confused and excited at the same time, he was good, but he shouldn't have been on Varsity freshman year, maybe the coach saw potential? James didn´t know what to think, but he knew he was excited.
Hair
Poem By: Ellie Lowenberg
Curly
And blonde
Sometimes brown
Long, and still bouncy
It goes around her face
Sometimes in french braids
With knotted hair ties on the ends.
She has crimped, kinked, corkscrew curls
