Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the September 6th and 20th meetings were approved as presented.
New Business
Board member, Michael Bilbro, asked if the bleachers from WHS could be moved to Kugler Field for the Washington Football Leagues season. Director of Maintenance was also asked to compile a list of repairs needed at Kugler Field.
Reports and Updates
Project AWARE Director presented a second reading of revisions to Policy 4400- Attendance. The Board approved the revisions as presented.
A pressure washing update was provided to the board for those that have been completed and are in progress.
The Board was updated on the agreement between BCS and Brady Trane Service, Inc. about the HVAC project at various schools using ESSER funds.
The Board was invited to the Jack L Wallace Athletic Complex Sign Dedication at Bath Elementary on November 1, 2022, at noon.
SRO Coverage information at each school was provided to the Board by the COO.
The FY22 Budget Amendment was approved as presented by the CFO.
The Superintendent presented the Landscaping RFP for final approval before sending it out to vendors. It was approved as presented to send out. Our current contract expires on 12/31/22
Superintendent Report
The Superintendent distributed the 2023 Capital Outlay Budget for the Board to review. BCS will receive $544,000 in a sales tax refund to be used for technology. An additional $500,000 was appropriated from the Beaufort County Commissioners for capital outlay projects. The board will review a list of potential capital projects for this additional amount.
The Public School Building and Renovation Fund was presented to the Board by Dr. Cheeseman: $300,000 for 2022, and $500,000 for 2023. His suggestion was for the funds to be used on the Bath Elementary Gym Moisture Project.
Dr. Cheeseman provided the Board with an update on Accountability regarding performance grades, school growth, and graduation rates.
Options were presented to the Board to add projects to the Capital Outlay Budget FY23. The Superintendents recommendations were approved in a majority vote.
