Reports and Updates 

School year 2022 Capital Update was presented by Jamie Stokes, Maintenance Director.  He outlined the current projects with projected completion dates.  He also gave updates on material shortages, expenses, and carryover. Dr. Cheeseman gave the Board the budget amounts that were approved by the Beaufort County Commissioners. 

CTO Andrea Lilley presented revisions to the network security policy 6524 to the board for the first reading.

The Jack Wallace Athletic Sign was approved as presented to move forward into production.  

Superintendent Report

Dr. Matthew Cheeseman presented the 2022-2023 Student transfer update to the board.

Dr. Cheeseman and Chief Robert Quackenbush with Allied Universal Securities presented an update on the School Resources Officers (SROs) offenses, training, and schedules.

Information was presented regarding approved raises within the State of North Carolina. 

Some logistics: 

Teachers will receive a 4.2% raise on average 

Administrative or classified will receive a 4% raise (or $15 an hr for classified) 

The Beginning Teacher Mentoring Support Program with Riverbay was approved as presented. 46 of 48 Beginning teachers are asking for a mentor again. We have 30-35 new teachers incoming.
