Athletic Directors Recognized
Head Athletic Director, Joe Tkach recognized Athletic Directors Lane Raper from Washington High School, Jared Adams from Northside High School, and Andrea Quinerly from Southside HIgh School, for their schools being ejection free for the last year.
Superintendent Matthew Cheeseman recognized each school Principal for National Principals Month in October and presented each with a gift basket- supporting all local shops and businesses.

Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the October 4th and 18th board meetings were approved as presented.
New Business
Board Policy 4316- Student Dress Code was presented by Dr. Cheeseman for review and revisions. He will bring a recommendation to the Board in the near future.

After a unanimous vote, the Board approved all fourteen School Improvement Plans as presented.
CAO Dr. Norris Parker presented information about a Curriculum Math Adoption to the Board.
The following Capital Projects were approved by the Board as presented:
Washington High School Performing Art Center Pit Area repair, Triangulation, Inc. for $9,850.
Building 4 Carpet Project, G. W. Walker & Sons, Inc. for $7,437
Chocowinity Middle School Carpet Project, G. W. Walker & Sons, Inc. for 17,304
John Cotten Tayloe Elementary School Carpet Project, G. W. Walker & Sons, Inc. $17,759
COO Dr. Marvin Bradley, presented a request to sell surplus items on Gov. deals. The Board approved the request as presented.
CTE Director Vicki Hamill presented a request for the Board to approve the EWIF grant application. It was approved as presented.
Superintendent Report
An update was presented regarding the sales tax refund from the county. Dr. Cheeseman attended the October 3rd Commissioners meeting to request a refund for Capital Expenditures.
A request was presented to submit an application to the Public School Building Repair and Rennovation Fund. the Board approved the request as presented .
Information was presented to the Board regarding Portrait of a Graduation from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
