When a candidate is struggling or unsure of themselves, you can politely interrupt:

Say the person’s name and wait. (Saying their name will get their attention.)

Once they pause, follow up with one of the examples:

• Excuse me for butting in...

• May I interrupt,...

• Before you go on, I’d like to say...

• May I add something here...

• Pardon me, I would like to add…

• If I could stop you for a moment, please (Name)...
