There are instances when interviewers are faced with difficult situations during an interview. We have compiled a list of questions with responses that will deal with them and prevent the situation from escalating.
A candidate faces network trouble.
Step 1: (Reassurance): “It happens (name), don’t worry about it.”
Step 2: (Troubleshoot): “Let’s try...”
Step 3: (Suggest a workaround): “I recommend...”
You face network issues.
Respond with:
I’m sorry for the network trouble (Name).
I am sorry for the inconvenience.
I am sorry for the delay.
Please bear with me...
Please give me a few minutes to...
Thank you for waiting so patiently, (Name).
Step 1: (Apologize)-I am sorry for the inconvenience (Name).
Step 2: (Troubleshoot/Suggest a workaround) ”Let me quickly generate a new coding pad link for you.”
Step 1: (Acknowledge the reason given)
Step 2: (Explain) Using your mobile will make it difficult for you to code.
Step 3: (Suggest a workaround.)

On the interview landing page:
Step 1: Click on the ‘coding pad/whiteboard’ button to get access to the code judge links.
Step 2: Copy the code judge link and share it with the candidate.
Step 3: Click on the 'open’ button to open the code judge screen.
Step 4: Then click on the ‘join meeting’ button and join the interview.
Step 1: Keep calm and inform us immediately via WhatsApp.
Step 2: (Do not take action.) Please await further instructions from BarRaiser.
Step 3: Fill out the feedback form with your findings.
We cannot force a candidate to accept feedback. We can tell them about our own experiences to demonstrate how we improved.
How do we present feedback in a way that the candidate does not get offended?
Example:
"___ (course/website)___, helped me develop ______ skills. Try it out. I believe it will help you.
(Use your personal experiences as reference material, such as classes, websites, and so on, that helped you strengthen and develop your skills.)
Step 1: If a candidate is struggling in a particular category, try evaluating candidates with a different level of difficulty to determine their knowledge and skills.
Step 2: Then move on to the next category.
Step 1: (Say) "I can give you a couple of minutes more, but we will need to move on to the next question after that."
Step 2: Give the candidate a couple of minutes.
Step 3: Inform the candidate, "(Name) Let's revisit the problem later. For now, let's move on to___."
Step 1: (Acknowledge the candidate's response or empathize): “I understand where you are coming from (name).”
Step 2: (Explain): “Hence, I would like you to only focus on only ___.”
Step 3: (Action): “This will help you achieve it within the timelines."
Step 1: Listen to what the candidate is saying.
Step 2: (Acknowledge the candidate's response with empathy): “I understand/I realize... where you are coming from (name).”
Step 3: (Explain your reasoning)
Step 4: (Suggest a solution): "We can try..."
