Use technology purposefully to create, organise, store, manipulate and retrieve digital content
Open and save files reliably, including from a shared location such as a server. This can easily be evidenced through a unit of work where students are expected to continue working on a file across a number of sessions.
'Double click' on folders reliably to open their contents, or 'single click' and then use the 'Open' button. Pupils should have some understanding of hierarchy within a file system eg. they should know why their work is saved in a particular folder.
'Pupils can save files they are working on. They should have some understanding of the difference between 'Save' and 'Save as'.
WORKING TOWARDS - Pupils can follow instructions to find and open folders and files. They can save files they are working on in a given location.
MET - Pupils can find and open folders and files they have been working on. They know where certain files are likely to be located. They can save files they are working on in an appropriate location.
FURTHER PROGRESSION - Pupils can reliably locate files in a range of locations and save files they are working on in an appropriate location. Children can explain when they need to use 'Save As' as opposed to 'Save'.
