The Office of the Assistant Vice President for Research, Creative Work, and Innovation (OAVP-RCWI) under the Office of the Vice President for Higher Education has the main responsibility of promoting research, creative work, and innovation in the Ateneo de Manila University and establishing linkages pertaining to scholarly work. It is dedicated to supporting faculty members, students, and staff in their scholarly work pursuits and activities.
Based on the University President’s memo of 29 May 2023, the following units report to the Assistant Vice President for Research, Creative Work, and Innovation:

The University Research Council (URC), under the supervision of the Assistant Vice President for Research, Creative Work, and Innovation in Higher Education, takes on the vital functions needed to advance research excellence in the University. It is in charge of setting direction, policy, strategy, and review of research.
The Ateneo de Manila University Press (AUP) is the University's supreme expression of engagement with the world. The Press aims to support the University’s mission towards academic excellence and nation-building through the production of both scholarly works and textbooks.
The University Research Ethics Office’s (UREO) pivotal role is to develop and uphold research ethics standards through the creation of University policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Ensuring alignment with both national and international benchmarks, UREO guarantees the integrity of research ethics policies. Through seminars, workshops, and resource sharing, UREO actively fosters ethical research conduct and review within the University.
The Ateneo Intellectual Property Office (AIPO) is the main office responsible for the generation, protection, and commercialization of the University’s Intellectual Property. The Ateneo Intellectual Property Office provides services for startup support, IP protection, innovation management, and many more.
A new office to support research, creative work, and innovation is being established. This office includes the management of research grants, the analysis of data and strategy, and the recognition and communication of achievements by the faculty members of the Ateneo de Manila University. It supports the faculty, staff, and eligible graduate students in their applications for internal and external research grants and for assistance in publications and conference attendance. It assists in the issuance of awards for scholarly and creative works. It manages Archīum, the University’s institutional repository.
