This page will walk you through the steps of adding a class using the class search.
Step 1: Open your MyASU page and locate the "My Classes" box on the top left. Click "Class Search" at the bottom of this box which will open up the official ASU class search.
Pro tip: You may also google "ASU Class Search" to access this page!
Step 2: The new page should look like the image below. Ensure that the term in the box on the far left is the correct term you are attempting to enroll in.
Step 3: Type in the Subject (three letters) and Number (three digits) of the course you want to add, then click “Search Classes” or hit “Enter” on your keyboard.
Step 4: Click the filter buttons to narrow down your search such as "Open Seats," "Session," and more.
Step 5: Look at the shape next to the number of open seats:
Green circle = open, no reservations
Green triangle = section is reserved (See the drop down below to learn more about seat reservations)
Red X = section is full, cannot enroll
If a section you want to add has a green triangle, you can click on the name of the class (ENG 101 in the example below) to check the reservation. If you meet the reservation, you can enroll in the class. If you do not meet the reservation, you will not be able to enroll in the class. If you are unsure if you meet the reservation, you can reach out to your advisors for help.
Step 6: Once you find a class section you want to enroll in, click the maroon “Add” button on the right side of your screen. This will open a new page.
Step 7: Verify that the information is correct. If correct, click "Add to Cart"
Step 8: Click "Enroll" in the upper right hand corner.
Note: You may repeat steps 3-7 if you have multiple classes to add by name in the class search.
Step 9: Check the "My Classes" box on your MyASU page to verify that you are officially enrolled in the course.
