6th Grade STEM

This course is required for all 6th grade students and teaches them what they need to know in order to think critically, behave safely, and participate responsibly in our digital world. They will cover topics like Information Literacy, Privacy and Security, Digital Media, and participating in the Online Community at school and at home. Students will use a variety of digital tools in class and will complete a project at the end of the quarter. Focus is placed on learning information and concepts they can use throughout middle school and beyond.



7th Grade STEM

In this course students will discover the areas of electricity and digital electronics by creating a variety of projects. Students will learn principles of electronics and circuitry design by exploring electrical components and building their own circuits. They will also learn programming by blending hardware design and software development with microcontrollers. Projects include developing prototypes of things like a physical computing device, an interactive billboard, or wearable technology. Students will broaden their understanding of abstract concepts through meaningful and authentic learning.
