6th Grade Choir

Sixth Grade Choir offers the opportunity for students to experience music as a part of a performing vocal ensemble. If you love to sing, choir class is for you! This class, comprised of all vocal ranges, meets every other day and allows students to develop their vocal skills and musicianship through the study of a varied repertoire of rounds, partner songs, and two and three-part music. Seasonal music and music written in other languages will also be studied at appropriate times throughout the school year. Students will learn the following skills: music-reading, sight-singing, vocal production and technique, and will also study music theory concepts included within the music being sung in choir class. The social goals of being in a musical ensemble will be stressed since cooperation and commitment to the performance goals are a crucial part of what we do as members of a choir. Students have the opportunity to and are expected to perform in two evening concerts held during the school year, typically in December and May, at the Ashwaubenon Performing Arts Center.
