6th Grade Art
6th Grade Art
The art classroom is a unique environment where students are encouraged to express themselves and to communicate through a variety of imaginative ways. The 6th grade curriculum is designed to aid each student in discovering his or her creative potential. Art projects are presented as exploratory experiences that encourage students in creative thinking and imaginative problem solving. Focus is placed on the creative process and not on the results of the final product by emphasizing the progress made and not the perfection achieved. Art projects are designed to build self-confidence and to be educational and fun through activity based learning. Students will work both independently and cooperatively on a variety of projects. Connections will be made between art and self, family, school, community, history, culture and the world.
