Messenger 2.0
The Messenger 2.0 tool allows a user to build and send messages to students and/or guardians. Depending on the messaging options used by the district/school, this tool may be used to create inbox, email, voice and/or text messages.
Benefits include:
● Sending emails notifying parents of report cards and access to Campus Portal.
● Delivering Emergency notices regarding weather and emergency traffic situations.
● Notify parents immediately through automated scheduled messages for attendance, behavior, and missing assignments.
Messenger 2.0 Directions
Menu > Search > Tool > Messenger 2.0
Creating a Message
1.Select General or Priority.
Result: Step 1 Recipients displays.
2.Select the Delivery Mode: Inbox, Email, Voice, and/or Text.
3.Select a School Year.
Tip: The default selection is the current school year.
4.Select Select Calendars.
Result: The Calendars panel displays. Use the + (plus) and - (minus) buttons to view or hide additional calendars.

5.Select a recipient group from Send To.

2.Messenger Contacts
Select a filter option from the Student Selection.
All Active Students: Includes all students in the selected calendar(s) who have an active enrollment in the current school year or who have a future enrollment but have not started yet.
2.All Students: Includes all students in the selected calendar(s) regardless of enrollment status.
3.Filter Students: Includes all active students by default with the ability to filter the student list with the following options: Grade Level and Ad Hoc.
Previewing Messages
Click the Test button.
NOTE: Infinite Campus strongly recommends testing messages before delivering them. A message is sent in the exact manner it is delivered to recipients. The Test Message screen prompts you for a destination phone and/or email address then confirm that the test message was sent.
Click the Preview/Send Message button. The Preview Message screen displays.
Click the Review Recipients button. The Review Recipients screen displays.
Complete the following tasks on the Review Recipients screen. (Optional)
Click the Send Message button on the Preview Message screen.
Click OK.
Allows messages to be sent now, scheduled, or made reoccurring.
Choose how often to send the message by selecting an option from the Recurring Frequency dropdown list.
Mark the Send Confirmation Email checkbox to receive an email when the message has been sent. A confirmation email will be sent to the person who set up the Message Builder Schedule.
Select the Save icon when finished. The new schedule will appear below its respective template in the Attendance Messenger Schedules table.
Sent Messages Log
Allows you to review your inbox, email, voice, and text messages. It includes the same information for Messenger 2.0 messages as Messenger 1.0 messages.
The Messenger 2.0 Filter Criteria Detail section includes the selected recipient parameters when the message was created and helps with message troubleshooting and replicating. The filter criteria can include the following details: to whom the message was sent, the School Year, selected Calendars, Student Grade Levels, Staff Roles, Student/Staff Ad Hoc Filters, and Preferred Language.
