Cross-Site Enrollment enables students to take a course at another school within the district that is not offered at their home school. This feature will be used for AVA-Flex student scheduling for the 2025-2026 school year.

Cross-Site Enrollment is a feature within the Infinite Campus system that allows students in the Atlanta Public Schools (APS) district to enroll in courses offered at a different school (the "serving school") when those courses are not available at their "home school." This functionality replaces the previously used Genius platform for scheduling AVA Flex courses. Cross-site courses, enrollments, students, and attendance events are marked with a distinct indicator to differentiate them from standard entries.
Once courses have been mapped at the Serving School by the home school’s scheduler, students must be manually scheduled into Cross-Site Courses through the Walk-In Scheduler at the home school by the counselor or scheduler.
Home Schools cannot take attendance in Cross-Site Courses. If the Home School would like to take attendance for the period in which the student is taking a Cross-Site course, they will have to also be scheduled into a Holding Code that allows for attendance.
1. Scheduling & Courses > Cross-Site Enrollment
2. In the upper right corner, select Serving and expand (+) Atlanta Public Schools to locate the serving school that the students will be attending for classes.
3. Expand (+) the Serving school needed or use the Filter options above to locate the specific course(s), school, or department needed.
4. Expand (+) the course and click the Unmapped link under status to map the course to the term for the home school.
5. A mapping window will appear with all available periods, terms, and rotations available. Map the course into the term, period, and rotation that is needed for the course to accommodate the student’s schedule.
6. Click Save.
7. When mapping a course from the Serving school, a unique cross-site course number will be created to avoid conflicts with existing courses. Leave the suggested mapped course number as is.
8. Click Save. The course will now show as Mapped.
1. Search for the Student and select the Walk-In Scheduler tab.
2. Select either the No Scheduled Course within the student's schedule or select the Search tab.
3. Use the + Add option to add a search field for Cross-Site from the drop-down and select Yes.
4. Click Search.
5. Select the course needed for the student.
6. A Cross-Site Course Enrollment Message will appear, stating that a secondary enrollment line will be created for the serving school if the student does not already have one.
7. Select Continue.
8. Enter the Effective Date. If no date is entered, it will default to the start date of the section.
9. Click Save.
10. The Cross-Site Scheduled course will appear with an icon denoting that a course is being taken at another school and a secondary enrollment line was created showing the students’ enrollment at the serving school.
FAQs
The "home school" is the student's primary school where they are typically enrolled and receive most of their education. The "serving school" is the other school within the APS district that offers a specific course that the student's home school does not (i.e. AVA), and where the student will take that particular cross-site course. Homeschools have view-only access to information entered by the serving school (such as course sections and grades), but cannot modify it.
Students complete their cross-site courses, often virtually through platforms like Edgenuity. The Student Information Systems (SIS) team is responsible for importing student grades from Edgenuity into Infinite Campus. Final grades for students enrolled in cross-site courses are then posted to the student's transcript by the home school's registrar (or authorized staff) at the same time as non-cross-site course grades.
Cross-site enrollment course sections and courses cannot be deleted from either the serving school or the home school if cross-site students are scheduled into them. The serving school must first remove (unschedule) any cross-site students from the relevant section or course roster before deletion is possible.
Home Schools cannot take attendance in Cross-Site Courses. If the Home School would like to take attendance for the period in which the student is taking a Cross-Site course, they will have to also be scheduled into a Holding Code that allows for attendance.
