EQAO
EQAO is an arm’s length government agency that contributes to the quality and accountability of Ontario’s publicly funded education system for K-12. As an evidence-based research-informed organization, EQAO is focused on empowering educators, parents, guardians, stakeholders and the public at large with the insights and information needed to support student learning and improve student outcomes.
Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT)
The Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test is written in the fall and again in the spring for students who have not yet been successful.
All grade 10 students as well as any grade 11 or 12 students that have yet to complete the literacy requirement will write in the fall. Students will be notified of the results at the end of semester 1.
Any students who require an additional opportunity to be successful on the test will write again during the spring sitting. Students will rewrite in April with additional support provided throughout semester 2. Students will be notified of the results in June.

Grade 9 EQAO Math
The Grade 9 Math assessment will be written the last week of the grade 9 math course (MTH1W) and prior to the final exam.
