**If your families are able to join the 8th grade parade tomorrow night at 6:30, please sign up and make a poster to let 8th graders know we are thinking about them this week!!!

On Thurs, May 7 at 6:30pm, we have organized a few car parades for our 8th graders. The idea is that parading families will meet, drive by a few 8th grade homes and send good vibes to the 8th graders and their families by cheering, making signs, and throwing candy out the windows of our cars. (Think "COVID Birthday Parades" but with a graduation twist.) Please take the time to sign up for a parade on this Sign-Up Genius. Sign up for a parade in your neighborhood, for an 8th grader you know and love, or sign up with other families you know just to get out of the house.

This week we are starting our unit on Virtues.

Hello 7th Grade,

This week, we want to give you time during religion to complete this community project. This note was sent to your parents:

We know there are so many more people out there working everyday on the front lines and although we would love to thank everyone, we have narrowed it down to 3 groups due to their ability to take cards and to deliver these cards.

Our goal is for every student to make 1 card, but would be amazing if they could make a few extra cards for the 3 groups we are highlighting (healthcare workers, nursing home residents and staff, grocery store employees). Our school goal is 1,000 cards! Feel free to make a card to put on your door to thank all the delivery people too.

7th grade

Please make thank you cards for nursing home residents and staff.

Then, make an extra thank you card for grocery store employees.

  • Please keep the notes upbeat and encouraging and write about what you are doing or something to make them smile. For the nursing home residents, they have not been able to visit with any family or friends so they are especially lonely and would love to read a note.
  • Sign the card with your 1st name, grade, school and city!
  • We want to incorporate the learning that the Arts team has put together and this week’s art lesson on pop-up cards so feel free to view the links below and get creative and go all-out on a card! However, a regular old thank you note is great too! Please see the links below:

*You can click on this link to follow steps for making pop-up cards which was in their Art activity lesson this week.

video on making pop-up cards.

You can drop off your thank you cards by the school doors off the parking lot on Monday, May 4th between 8am – 6pm.

There will be bins clearly marked for Health care workers, Nursing Homes and Grocery stores and we will deliver next week.

**TAKE PICTURES AND SUBMIT TO SHOWBIE :) To the left is an example.
