The Green Way Academy is a primary academy, catering for 406 children and very proud to serve the local North Hull community. Children start their academic journey in the school year in which they are five years old, when they join our Foundation Stage. As an AET academy, at The Green Way Academy our mission is pure and simple: to enable our pupils to lead remarkable lives. This is the golden thread that binds us all together – the reason that despite our very different paths to The Green Way Academy, we are all part of one family.
There are 15 classes in our wonderful academy, 2 in foundation stage, 5 in Key Stage 1 and 8 in Key Stage 2. All Key Stage 1 classes have a maximum of 30 pupils and Key Stage 2 has an average class size of 30. Children are placed in classes by age. The majority of our Year 6 pupils will transfer to Sirius North Academy, although some children have gone to St Marys, Newland School for Girls, Cottingham High, Kelvin Hall and other schools/academies.
There are 11 full-time teachers and 7 part-time teachers. They are well supported by teaching assistants, administration staff, caretaking staff, cleaning staff and lunchtime staff.
