Earth and Beyond: Geology & Deep Time

Successful completion of Grade 10 Science or equivalent.

Description:

Earth & Beyond is divided into two separate year-long courses offered in alternating years. A student may choose to take one course or both courses in their 11^th and 12th-grade years.

Earth & Beyond – Geology & Deep Time is designed for 11^th and 12th-grade students looking to fulfill one year of the science requirement for graduation that is not currently a full-time IB student, or have a genuine interest in the content. Topics in this course include: minerals and rocks, plate tectonics, earthquakes, volcanoes, fossils, deep time, oceanography, and weather.

Assessment:

Unit assessments (quizzes and tests), laboratory investigations, content activities, research and other major projects, and practice work.
