Fitness, Strength and Conditioning

Description:

This class is offered to 11th and 12th graders and is directed by three essential goals for each student:

1) attaining a level of personal fitness; 2) using technology to design and implement a personal fitness program based on scientific principles; and, 3) developing proficiency in selected motor skill activities for personal satisfaction and continued activity commitment.

This course is designed to give students the opportunity to learn fitness concepts and conditioning techniques used for obtaining optimal physical fitness. Students will benefit from comprehensive weight training and cardio-respiratory endurance activities. Students will learn the basic fundamentals of strength training, aerobic training, and overall fitness training and conditioning.
