Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.) course is an inquiry/project-based course. It fosters data literacy and computational thinking and encourages analytical thinking, critical and creative thinking, and problem solving. Course topics include the 4th Industrial Revolution, Internet of Things, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Design Thinking, Introduction to Architectural Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Introduction to Aerospace Engineering, and Data-based Scientific Investigations.

Dr. Karampelas has been in education since his early academic years teaching Science and Mathematics at all levels. This is his fourth year at ACS Athens, were he will be teaching 10th grade Physics and S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) - a course developed by him. Dr. Karampelas has been a post-graduate researcher at NKUA and the National Observatory of Athens, and a visiting researcher at the Instituto de Astrofisica de Andalucia, Granada, Spain, and the Institut d' Astrophysique de Paris, France. He has participated in ESA and NKUA research programs involving Astrophysics, Data Mining, and Machine Learning.
Dr. Karampelas is a Senior Fellow of the ACS Athens Institute of Innovation and Creativity (IIC), an online educator of the IIC Virtual High School, an Internal Coordinator of the ACS Athens Accreditation Team, the Coordinator of the ACS faculty Action Research, and the Principal Investigator of the spACS microgravity space experiments of ACS Athens Academy students.
Dr. Karampelas is a co-author of more than 60 peer-reviewed publications, contributions to conference proceedings, and other articles, as well as a reviewer of articles and a conference speaker both in Science and Education. He was involved in the ongoing European Space Agency (ESA) "Gaia" Space Mission and he is a member of the International Astronomical Union, the International Astrostatistics Association, the Hellenic Education Society for S.T.E.M., and the Hellenic Physical Society.
Dr. Karampelas is active in introducing Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning into K12, and his interests include Astrophysics, music, and creative writing.
