A Day (Pd. 3 & 5)
Monday:
MANIA Notes: Students will fill out the guided notes chart to explain the acronym “MANIA” and each of its individual components. Students will understand the formation of the Triple Entente and Triple Alliance, as well as how the Von Schlieffen Plan and various nationalist movements contributed to the formation of a world that could be shaken by assassination
The Day that Shook the World: Students will watch a documentary detailing a reenactment of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria. They will be able to identify who Gavrilo Princip was, and how nationalistic movements contributed to the significance of the event.

WWI Conditions of War Notes: students will take notes on the inciting moves of WWI, including the sequencing of declarations of war, as well as where and how battles were primarily conducted.
Battles of WWI WebQuest: students will be able to apply their knowledge from the notes in order to complete the first part of the WWI Battles WebQuest, using the Google Site provided to answer the questions. Students should make sure to click on all elements on the site.

US Entry into WWI DocsTeach: students will use the DocsTeach website to analyze each individual document for type, setting, message, and individual elements which give indication of that part of history. They will fill out the worksheet to answer questions and draw conclusions about each document
Project Work Time - students may spend block working on Research Paper
