Northern Renaissance Reading: students will use the textbook to explore the characteristics of the Northern Renaissance. They will answer the questions using the textbook.

Renaissance Quiz: students will put all materials away and prepare for a vocabulary quiz from the material so far (Renaissance). When they are done, they should start on Topic 1 Lesson 3 Close Reading Q’s.
Causes of the Reformation: Students will take short notes on the start of the Reformation, including its causes of humanistic ideals, the advent of the printing press, dissatisfaction with the church, and weak leadership in the HRE.
Topic 1 Lesson 3 Close Reading Q’s - the Protestant Reformation: students will complete the reading and questions using the textbook chapter.
Students may use the physical books in class, and may use the online version at home if needed.

Monday:
CSI Florence: students will focus specifically on the city-state of Florence to learn how politics and power dynamics contributed to the Renaissance. They will be solving a historical murder through a series of exhibits with their groups. Students will record all evidence in their Investigation Journals, and will be making an accusation at the end of the activity using the evidence they have collected.
Instructor will give each group a certain amount of time at each exhibit station. The time clock will be displayed on the board as groups move through the activity.
Students will do Exhibit A together as a class to practice evaluating the evidence, recording notes, and drawing conclusions.
Students who are absent may use the CSI Florence Digital Evidence Vault
