Safavids and Moguls Notes (file 2 part 2): students will take Outline-style notes on the Muslim Empires. They will differentiate between the Ottomans, Safavids, and the Mogul Empires. Students will identify how the Ottoman Empire rose and fell, and how the Middle East fractured and was changed as a result.
Rise of the Mogul Empire Q’s: Students will watch the two videos embedded in the activity and will answer questions. They will also make connections on how the introduction of Islam into India changed the face of India even up until today.
Akbar the Great Reading: students will read about the cultural infusion that Akbar the Great brought into India, and how it earned him his epithet.

Map of East Asia: in order to introduce the lesson on East Asia, students will create a map to view all of the overlapping dynasties of the East Asian world. They will color in the Ming, Qing, Mongol Empires, and Mongol Khanate, as well as surrounding countries like Tibet, Japan, etc.
Students will complete this using the TimeMaps Resource

Confucianism, Daoism, Legalism: students will read the article, determining the major values of the three major schools of Chinese thought. They will then complete an activity in which they apply these three schools of thought to modern scenarios; defining the characteristics of each school of thought when justifying their response

Muslim Empires Khan Academy: students will complete a review of the Muslim Empires, and geographically compare all three directly on a map. They will complete the worksheet provided in order to review concepts.
