Review Imperialism in Africa Note Guide: students will take guided notes in the note guide in response to the Slides presentation on African Imperialism.
Belgians in the Congo Newsela Article & Q’s
Source Selection for Research Paper: introduce students to the databases from ClassLink in the Library folder. They will start selecting sources for their paper using the template provided to organize and vet their sources. Students should think about selecting a variety of sources that cover all necessary aspects of the paper (background, historical info, contemporary issues, etc.)

Imperialism in China Guided Notes: Students will take guided notes while participating in a PearDeck activity about Imperialism and the establishment of spheres of influence in China.

Research Notes Introduction: students will learn how to complete their Research Notes based on the sources they have selected. They will create a document full of paraphrases and direct quotes from their sources to build into an outline of their paper.

Start Imperialism in Africa Packet:
Imperialism in Africa Primary Source Analysis: students will further practice analyzing primary sources by viewing the “Carving up of Africa” political cartoon and doing an analysis. They will come up with an explanation as to what was happening in Africa based on the cartoon.
Berlin Conference Newsela Article & Q’s: students will read the following article and answer the questions in the notes packet about the Berlin Conference.
