This spring, our exciting topic of Castles and Dragons will spark children’s curiosity about the past and fire their imaginations. Through stories, role play and creative activities, pupils will explore what life was like in castles, who lived and worked there, and why castles were built. We will encourage learners to ask questions, investigate artefacts and compare the past with the present, helping them to develop an understanding that human societies change over time. As they design their own castles, create dragon legends and explore maps, children will build skills in enquiry, creativity and collaboration, becoming ambitious, capable learners and ethical, informed citizens of Wales and the wider world.
Pupil Voice
As a class the children discussed what they would like to focus on during our topic. Throughout the topic we will be looking at:
Where dragons live, the different parts of the castle, where the kind and queen live, go on a dragon hunt.
