C - I can read and partition 3 digit numbers. I know to draw 3 sticks, copy the units digit, copy the tens digit and add one zero, then copy the hundreds digit and add two zeroes.

e.g 4 21 - splits into 400, 20 and 1

L - 3 times table

I - I can divide multiples of 10 by 10

C - I can solve any 2d + 2d - using mental maths strategies such as partitioning, adding the tens, then the ones etc.

Taekwon-Do - 09.09.26

Use this guide to help you with your weekly spelling homework.

P4 enjoyed a fun Taekwon-Do taster session with Miss Shepherd from our local Kincorth Taekwon-Do group. 

Room 8 pupils thoroughly enjoyed themselves and have returned home with information about the sessions which run weekly at Kincorth Sports Centre.

Homework Example

Use this guide to help you with your weekly spelling homework.

Monday: write words using look, say, cover, write and check, draw a line under digraphs, trigraphs and special friends. Write a dictation (an adult reads a sentence using one or more of the spelling words, child write it down).

Tuesday: write words using look, say, cover, write and check. Underline vowels in red. Use a slash to mark where syllables are. E.g bark/ ing. Write another dictation. 

Wednesday: write words using look, say, cover, write and check. Choose a cue for each word (something that helps you remember it, it could be a picture, an acronym, a rhyme etc). Draw or write it.

Thursday: write words using look, say, cover, write and check. Draw a box around any root word (e.g the root word in jumping is jump).  Circle any prefix (letters added to the beginning of the word e.g. unhappy) or suffix (letters added to the end of the word e.g. jumping).

Don't worry if you're still getting to grips with this, you can work up slowly towards it and get in touch with any questions. 

Here are some examples of how P4 pupils have started to layout their homework - there is no right way, whatever works for you!
