First Day of P4!
We were really excited to see our friends and had fun exploring room 8!
Term 1 Overview
Literacy
Literacy
We will be working on spelling, revising a new sound per week. Spelling homework will be sent home weekly and a spelling test will take place on Fridays.
In writing we will follow the Cypic approach, beginning with openers as the target. We will work on biographies and retells - both direct and indirect.
We will begin reading in week 3 and will complete weekly comprehension tasks following the Reflective Reading Approach.
We will continue to develop our listening and talking throughout the curriculum.
Numeracy

This term we will be focusing on 2D & 3D shape, patterns & relationship and Mathematics and its impact on the world. We will celebrate Maths Week Scotland during the week beginning the 21st of September.
We will follow the Primary 4 Big Maths progression and will complete weekly CLIC challenges.
At our own pace we will also complete weekly times Learn Its challenges aiming to improve our mental maths skills.
Health and Wellbeing
Health and Wellbeing
This term we will focus on mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing.
We will continue to develop our understanding of our emotions and how to support ourself and others.
Science
Science
Our science topics this term are Space and Processes of the Planet
Cross Currciular
Cross Currciular
We are beginning the term with our citizenship topic. This will focus on settling in to our new class and being great Abbotswell Meerkats.
We will then begin our Around the World topic which will continue into term 2.
