WHS STYLE SHEET

1. All final papers should be typed (word processed).

2. All final papers should be in either 10 or 12-point type.

3. All final papers should be in a simple, clear font: Palatino, Times New Roman, Helvetica, Courier, Geneva, etc.

4. All final papers should be on plain white paper in black type.

5. All final papers should be double-spaced with no additional spacing between paragraphs.

6. All new paragraphs should be indented five spaces.

7. The word you or other forms of you should not be used except in quotations, dialogue, or specific examples of direct address of the audience.

8. Except for dates, the numbers one through nine should be written out.

9. All papers should use a standard one-inch margin on three sides of the page.

10. A title should be centered--no underlining, no bold face, no huge point type--just above the first line of the first paragraph.

11. The writer’s name, the instructor’s name, the course name, and the due date should appear in the upper left corner of the first page.

12. Headers of the writer’s last name and appropriate page number should occur after the first page.
