GRADING SYSTEM
Washington Senior High School academic year will comprise four grading periods. Each grading period will be nine weeks in length. Washington Senior High School is on the 4-block plan in that each subject is considered as one term in length (some courses take two terms to complete/and courses referred to as skinnies are on the traditional semester plan). This means that you will receive credit for each term completed and will begin each term new. You will be given a grade at the conclusion of each grading period. Grades used by teachers have the following values:
A............... 4.0 B-.............. 2.67 D+............. 1.33
A-.............. 3.67 C+............. 2.33 D............... 1.0
B+............. 3.33 C............... 2.00 D-.............. 0.67
B............... 3.0 C-.............. 1.67 F............... 0.0
Incomplete grades: Incomplete grades must be completed within one week after the end of a term to receive full credit. If not completed within this time, an "F" will automatically be given for each course not meeting all of its requirements. Exception: at the end of the school year all work must be in and graded the last day of school. The building principal must approve other extensions.
Mid-term reports: Mid-term report cards will be given out at parent-teacher conferences. Report cards that are not picked up by parents will be made available to the student. Report cards will be sent to the parents of students who are failing or in danger of failing.
