CLASSROOM EVICTIONS

CLASSROOM EVICTIONS

A student will be sent out of class by a teacher when the student’s conduct would keep the class from continuing in an educational manner. The student must immediately report to the Principal or designee with a pass. (Please note that alternative procedures will be used for students involved in Special Education.)

A. On the first offense the student will have a conference with the principal or designee and will be assigned a detention (unless the student’s action is a suspendible offense as described in the handbook).

B. The second offense will result in assignment to detention and the student’s parents will be contacted. The student and their parents will be advised that a subsequent offense may result in the student being removed from that class for that term with no credit given for the class.

C. The third offense may result in the student being removed from the class for that term with no credit given for the class. The student will be sent to the guidance office where they register for an online class to make up the credit. During the period that the student is removed from class they will be expected to report to the guidance’s office where they will work in a designated area.

D. If a student is removed from two courses during the same term for violation of this procedure they would be removed from all classes for that term. In order for this to happen, the student would have been sent out of two courses, three occasions for each course. Credits may be made up using Kirkwood, or through the use of online courses.
